Med Flight One Crew Memorialized Outside Emergency Department

The Upland Hills Health Foundation Board of Directors would like to announce that a bench in honor and celebration of the lives of Mark Coyne, Steve Lipperer, and Dr. Darren Bean, the Flight Crew from the May 10, 2008 Med Flight One tragedy, has been recently placed outside the Emergency Services door.

The bench was purchased through contributions made by staff members of Upland Hills Health. “It is an honor to have the names of these three people on a bench outside one of the facilities that utilizes Med Flight.  Med Flight has saved the lives of many people and it is very significant to have the staff members of Upland Hills Health understand what this memorial means to each Med Flight medical team member,” stated Dr. Michael Foley, Med Flight and Upland Hills Emergency Physician. Annually, Med Flight One travels approximately 30-35 times to Upland Hills Health.

Phyllis A. Fritsch, Upland Hills Health Administrator and Dr. Michael Foley, Med Flight and Upland Hills Emergency physician, stand behind the bench which proudly displays a plaque honoring the lives of Mark Coyne, Steve Lipperer, and Dr. Darren Bean. Monies for the bench memorial were donated to the Upland Hills Health Foundation by Upland Hills Health staff members.
