Volunteer Opportunities at UHH

We have volunteers who help across our organization, from surgery to hospice. If you don’t see a role here that interests you, please contact Dee McConnell to talk about how you’d like to help!

Community Relations Volunteer
Assist with special projects for the department, including preparing envelopes, entering data, delivering information to clinics and community locations, organizing, serving as models for photo shoots, and assisting with UHH events

Emergency Department Volunteer
Assist staff in ER with general department operations; transport patients, records, specimens, and x-rays between department

Gift Shop Volunteer
Provide retail service to customers and support the service and fundraising goals of the gift shop

Greeter Volunteer
Assist patients and visitors to and from various locations; assist with projects

Heart, Lung, and Sleep Center Volunteer
Assist staff with general department operations including housekeeping duties, patient transport, and clerical duties

Hospice Volunteer
Provide comfort and support to the hospice patient and family members;
Enhance the services of the professional caregivers;
Function as a support member of the interdisciplinary team

Human Resources Clerical Volunteer
Assist with clerical duties such as copying, scanning, prepping, and mailing of documents for the organization

Laboratory Manual Input and Organizer Volunteer
Assist with clerical duties such as typing, editing, and developing projects and electronic versions of policies.

Nursing and Rehab Volunteer
Assist staff with activities, transporting patients, and field trips; serve the needs of residents

Patient Services Volunteer
Provide personal attention to patients and their family members in a caring, unhurried manner

SSM Clinic-Laboratory Volunteer
Transport specimens between the Specialty Clinic and Laboratory

Staff Development Volunteer
Assist with course development and class management; provide clerical support

Surgical / Outpatient Volunteer
Provide support to outpatients and surgical patients and their families; greet and escort patients; transport records, specimens, x-rays, mail, equipment, supplies, and patients

Therapy / Wellness Center Volunteer
Assist Therapy and Wellness Center members and employees with general department operations; perform light housekeeping duties
