At Upland Hills Health, we understand that not everyone can return home after a hospital stay. The Swing Bed Program provides the extra time you need for your recovery so you can return to your home.
What is a Swing Bed?
Swing Bed rooms are located in the medical-surgical unit in the hospital. Our care team includes nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers, and pharmacists. Our team will work with you to help you safely return home. How long you stay will vary depending on your needs and plan of care, which are set by you and your team. An average stay in a Swing Bed is between one and two weeks.
Who is Eligible for Swing Bed?
The team at Upland Hills Heatlh will review your current medical care and needs as well as your personal goals. They will also review your insurance coverage and may contact your insurance company to determine if you are eligible for the Swing Bed Program. Depending on whether you meet the eligibility requirements, Medicare and some private insurances may cover a Swing Bed stay.
