Hospice volunteers provide personal comfort and support that supplements the care provided by hospice staff to improve the quality of life for our patients and their families. Whether it be holding a hand and listening, taking a patient to their favorite park, picking up the dry cleaning or giving family members a break from caregiving, a trained volunteer can truly make a difference.
Role of a hospice volunteer:

Provide companionship

Give a break to caregivers

Assist with activities of daily living

Transport/escort patient or family

Run errands
-
Perform light housekeeping tasks

Prepare meals
-
Provide child care

Assist patient with life review projects such as an oral history or photo albums for family
