The Anesthesia Department at UHH provides an individualized anesthesia plan and pain control for the Surgery Department and Birthing Center Patients. The anesthesia staff members also provide pain control in the form of peripheral nerve blocks for the majority of the surgical procedures performed at UHH. Nerve blocks greatly reduce or eliminate the need for additional opioid pain medication after surgery. Anesthesia providers administer sedation and provide airway management for all surgical and endoscopy procedures at UHH.
