Becky Kelly Receives Motivational Nursing Award
Becky Kelly, RN in the Obstetrics Department at Upland Hills Health was recently presented with the Lisa Faherty-Bilse Memorial “Attitude is Everything” Motivational Nursing Award. This award is presented to an Upland Hills Health nurse who best exemplifies the traits that the award celebrates about Lisa’s life and her contributions to local healthcare. Kelly joined Upland Hills Health in 2004, starting on the medical-surgical hospital floor, then moving to obstetrics to provide care within the birthing unit.
Kelly was nominated by a co-worker, who stated “Becky actively seeks out every opportunity to learn new skills… and challenge herself. As an OB nurse, her talents are obvious. She has handled difficult situations with grace and confidence. Her vast experience has been a help to new parents, as well as new nurses… always with a smile and a hello… By encouraging each person she works with to be their best professionally and personally, Becky continues to embody the Attitude is Everything Spirit that Lisa had. Becky, like Lisa, prefers to seek out the good in every person and works to bring that out.”
Lynn Hebgen, Vice President of Nursing was on hand to present the award on September 6 in honor of Lisa Faherty-Bilse’s birthday. Hebgen noted that Becky’s pleasant attitude, her sense of compassion and understanding, and her ability to jump in to provide help where it is needed, is greatly appreciated by her co-workers. Becky also serves as Relief House Supervisor at Upland Hills Health. Her problem solving and critical thinking skills are described as rational and professional. Becky enjoys seeing her co-workers succeed and she has earned their appreciation and respect.
