[Dodgeville] May is a month that focuses on many healthcare observances. The Rural Health Ambassador Award was established to recognize employees in RWHC member hospitals who have gone above the call of duty in promoting their respective organizations and made significant contributions to rural healthcare.

For 25 years, Becky has been a Registered Nurse at Upland Hills Health, a member of the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. She has served in the intensive-care unit, on the medical/surgical floor, and in recent years has managed the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program along with the Cancer Empowerment Program at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville.

Tank’s generosity to her patients, her hospital and her community is described by her co-workers, as amazing. In the last year alone she served on the Wellness Committee, Community Health Needs Assessment Committee, Healthy Iowa County Initiative, Healthy Hospital Initiative, Go-Time Committees, Farm to Hospital Committee, and many more. She worked as organizer of the Nurse’s Day Community Fun Run/Walk for 6 years and continues to serve on the committee for this event that promotes physical activity. She has continued to support the WISCPHR Hearts of Gold Games, by encouraging participation in a regional event for anyone that has been touched by cardiovascular disease—a contest in which her team has won several times! Tank rarely turns down a speaking opportunity. The local Kiwanis Club knows they can depend on her to share her expertise. She has also been a very active member of such organizations as the Wisconsin Society for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Health and Rehabilitation along with American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Shown below are members of the Heart, Lung and Sleep Center at Upland Hills Health celebrating Becky’s recognition.
