David Engels Joins UHH Board of Trustees
The Upland Hills Health (UHH) Board of Trustees recently extended an invitation to David Engels of Mineral Point to join the board as the newest trustee.
Engels, a longtime Mineral Point resident and Mineral Point City Council member, was elected to join the board at its January meeting. Upland Hills Health hospital and clinics operates three facilities in Mineral Point: the Mineral Point Medical Center of Upland Hills Health on High Street, the Mineral Point Fitness Center on Fountain Street and the Mineral Point Aquatic Treatment and Therapy Center on Branger Drive.
UHH Board Chairman Jim Massey underscored the importance of representation from the Mineral Point area.
“We were very fortunate to find David Engels in our search to fill an open Board of Trustees seat,” Massey commented. “David has a background in finance and business management that will be valuable to our board as we look into the future. He has assured us he will ask many questions, and I am sure the answers will benefit all of us as we tackle the complicated issues facing healthcare. He is ready to hit the ground running, and we are looking forward to working with him.”
Engels lives in Mineral Point with his wife Tari and daughter Grace. He acknowledges the multiple challenges faced by healthcare organizations today and their essential contribution to quality of life and economic health of the area.
“I look forward to learning more about the complexities of the healthcare system and supporting the ongoing operational initiatives of UHH,” Engels said. “It’s my goal to seek ways to ensure the overall healthcare experience at UHH is efficient, effective, and supports the mission to provide innovative, individualized and compassionate care.
My father taught me the value of service beyond self. I hope my personal and professional experiences will help UHH continue to grow and meet the healthcare needs of our area. Ensuring a strong and compassionate organization is critical to the continued vitality of southwest Wisconsin.”
