Dr. Charlie Pearce Named Rural Wisconsin Health Ambassador

Charlie Pearce, M.D., emergency physician and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Upland Hills Health, received the Rural Health Ambassador Award from the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative.

Dr. Pearce began staffing the Upland Hills Health Emergency Department in 2013 as a member of Madison Emergency Physicians. In 2018, he also became the Vice President of Medical Affairs for Upland Hills Health. From his nomination letter, “Dr. Pearce goes above and beyond in his many different roles as a physician. He is universally trusted and esteemed by the hospital’s medical and nursing staff alike. He used this leadership to safely steer our hospital and community through the COVID pandemic and the subsequent staffing challenges and to move the hospital in new directions to benefit employees and our community.”

His nominator detailed various ways that Dr. Pearce has supported or created educational opportunities for providers and staff at Upland Hills Health, as well as for the community.

The Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative gathers nominations each year from its member hospitals to recognize a hospital employee who shows dedication to bettering the health of the community through leadership and dedication beyond the scope of their job descriptions.
