Pillowcases for Pint-sized Patients

[Dodgeville] Carolyn Tiber, Chairman of the Upland Hills Health Pillowcase Project is pictured here presenting a stack of colorful and cozy pillowcases to Vice President of Nursing, Lynn Hebgen (far left) and Director of Acute Care, Tammy Rule.  The Pillowcase Project was started by the Auxiliary in April of 2012 and the group; made up of Joan Beckius, Linda Gard, Elaine Stephens and Carolyn Tiber, have created over 250 pillowcases. Made of brightly patterned, soft flannel, the cases are given to comfort young patients who are admitted to Upland Hills Health Hospital or Emergency.

A ‘Quilt Retreat’ fundraising event is one of the ways the Auxiliary raises money to pay for supplies to make the pillowcases and this annual event is coming up. It will be held April 24 – 27 at the House on the Rock Inn in Dodgeville. Information about making a donation to the Auxiliary Pillow Project, volunteering for the Auxiliary or about the Quilt Retreat may be obtained by calling Upland Hills Health Community Relations at 930-7112.
