SCAM ALERT

If you receive a text message from Dodgeville Hospital telling you that someone you know has been hospitalized IT IS A SCAM. Do not click on any links or phone numbers that it includes. Delete the text.

Local news sources have reported that this scam has used other southern Wisconsin hospital’s names in the text, as well. Hospitals do not send text messages about a sick family member, friend or neighbor.

The text scam has a variation of the following message, “This is Dodgeville Hospital texting. Your ‘friend’ is with us now. Condition was worrying. You please find us…” The messages are filled with spelling and grammatical errors.

These messages are not from the Dodgeville hospital. Upland Hills Health does not text community members or patients about anyone’s health status. Do not click on any links or phone numbers that it includes. Delete the text.
