Upland Hills Health Announces Board of Trustees Changes

The Upland Hills Health Board of Trustees announced that it has selected two new board members. Andrea Potterton, a Realtor who lives in Dodgeville, and Alan Holter, DVM, a semi-retired veterinarian from Dodgeville, will join the board effective February 1, 2024.

Potterton, who is with Potterton Rule Real Estate firm, has been a Realtor in the area since 2006. Potterton Rule Real Estate has offices in Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Mount Horeb and Platteville. She has been a Realtor since 2006 and is the current president of the Upland Hills Health Foundation Board.

Holter is a member of the Wisconsin Veterinary Examining Board and a past president of the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Holter was a partner of the Dodgeville Veterinary Service for 26 years before selling the practice in 2018. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University.

“We are fortunate to have Alan and Andrea joining our board,” said Board Chair Jim Massey. “They are both community-minded individuals who not only bring valuable expertise but are also committed to our mission of service to this region.”

Three members are leaving the board. Jody Vanderloo, the longest-tenured board member in the organization’s history at 16 years, completed her fourth and final term at the January 24 meeting. Vanderloo and her husband, Peter, have made Dodgeville their home since 1978, where they raised their four sons. She served as chair for two four-year terms since joining the board in 2008.

Ted Greenheck, a board member from Spring Green, has opted to step away from the board after serving for 14 years. Greenheck most recently served as board vice-chair and chair of the Facilities committee. David Engels, Mineral Point, who served on the board for two years, filled an expiring term and has decided not to seek a full four-year term. Engels served on the Finance committee and was the board liaison to the UHH Foundation.

“These board members will be missed. Jody has been an invaluable asset to our board over the past 16 years. We changed our bylaws so we would not lose her after she had served three, four-year terms, which allowed her to serve one more term,” according to Massey. “They helped guide us through a tremendous period of growth and we are very grateful for their service.”

President and CEO Lisa Schnedler said Upland Hills Health is fortunate to have board members who bring breadth, depth and insights informed by their experience in the community.

“Andrea and Alan share our enthusiasm to deliver compassionate, trusted care. I look forward to collaborating with them as we continue to set a strategic agenda to meet our communities’ health care needs,” according to Schnedler. “At the same time, I am extremely appreciative of and grateful to our departing members. I am truly humbled by the passion for caring for others that all three brought to our board.”

The board will fill the vacated board seats in the near future.
