Upland Hills Health Employees Donate Thousands Back to Southwest Wisconsin

Upland Hills Health is proud to announce its employees have donated more than $6,000 back to communities across southwest Wisconsin in celebration of the hospital’s 50th anniversary.

Upland Hills Health encouraged its employees to donate to causes close to their heart in their communities over the course of the year, reimbursing each staff member for their generosity. 120 employees from Dodgeville, Mount Horeb, Barneveld, Cobb, Montfort, Highland, and other towns across southwest Wisconsin chose to take part and benefit their hometowns. Donations went to school districts, food pantries, fire departments, and other worthy causes.

“Our 50th year is the perfect time to show our appreciation to members of our communities for trusting us with their health and wellness and to honor the commitment our employees have made to provide compassionate and expert care to every patient, every time,” said Upland Hills Health President and CEO Lisa Schnedler. “Upland Hills Health has expanded over the years and the number of employees and providers has grown, but we remain at our core a community hospital dedicated to putting the needs of our patients first.”

Upland Hills Health honors its 50th anniversary in memory of the merger of General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1974, creating Memorial Hospital of Iowa County. Combining the two hospitals set the stage for improvements in technology, staff growth and new services. The hospital was renamed Upland Hills Health in 2001.

Today, Upland Hills Health is a strong, independent health system with more than 35 providers, 30 specialists and over 600 employees working in the hospital, across seven clinics in Iowa and Dane counties and in essential services including hospice, medical equipment, therapy and home care.
