Upland Hills Health Ranks Among Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the Nation for 5th Year

Upland Hills Health Hospital has been named one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. Regarded as one of the industry’s most significant designations of performance excellence, the annual Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals award is based upon the results of the Hospital Strength INDEX® from iVantage Health Analytics.

Now in its ninth year, the INDEX leverages 50 rural-relevant indicators across eight pillars of hospital strength (i.e. Inpatient Market Share, Outpatient Market Share, Cost, Charge, Quality, Outcomes, Patient Perspective and Financial Stability) to determine an overall score for each hospital. Each of the INDEX’s 50 indicators is culled from publicly-available data sources.

According to the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health, Upland Hills Health is among eight rural Wisconsin hospitals in the top tier of national excellence, according to the new ranking. The hospitals in the state to be recognized are Ascension Calumet Hospital in Chilton, Aspirus Langlade Hospital in Antigo, Aspirus Hospital and Clinics in Medford, Mayo Clinic Health System—Red Cedar in Menominee, River Falls Area Hospital, Thedacare Medical Center in Shawano, Upland Hills Health Hospital and Clinics in Dodgeville, and Westfields Hospital and Clinics in New Richmond.
